I can't pair bluetooth mouses

Hi all,

Ever since I bought my new laptop, I haven’t been able to pair bluetooth mouses. All other bluetooth devices seem to work fine, but mouses don’t. The system tries to pair for a second, but then goes back to “unconfigured”. You can see the problem in this video:

The problem happens in F32 and also in F33 beta, both in Silverblue and regular Fedora. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

In case it’s useful, this is what fpaste says about my system:

Are you booting to console then graphics or using the default directly to graphics?

The video shows use of a mouse so I am confused when you say it cannot be configured!!

A bluetooth device can never be configured until after the kernel and the bluetooth service are both started and since login on my desktop (workstation release) is a graphical screen the mouse is almost mandatory for the login.

I use a logitech wireless mouse and keyboard that both get activated by the BIOS and are usable in bios or during the boot, not limited to after as is the case with bluetooth.

Directly to graphics. It’s just a normal, standard boot.

I can use the trackpad and also a USB mouse - it’s just bluetooth mouses that don’t work, but other pointer devices work just fine.

Hi @davidprieto

I seem to remember that I had a similar problem with a laptop a couple of years back. I could not get my bluetooth mouse to pair and work with it using the GUI. However, I could get it to work if I paired and configured the mouse via the command line.

I used bluetoothctl to do it. There seems to be some instructions on how to do this on this Arch Linux documentation page:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/bluetooth#Pairing

The procedure should be pretty much the same for Fedora. I hope this helps.
