I ran an update on my Fedora 41 test system this morning and noticed gdm was updated >= 47. After the update completed, I rebooted and connected to it via RDP and then successfully disconnected and reconnected to the same session 
I’m super happy this is now working as it was the GNOME 47 feature I was most looking forward to.
