This is my first post, so this might not be the place to ask. I had a Fedora issue where a Google search took me to a 2020 post on this site. I’ve got a solution that I’d like to contribute on that closed post given that others might navigate to it like I did. Is that possible? Can I open a closed post and make a contribution to it? Thanks!

I don’t believe so - mods can close posts, but I’m not even sure if it’s possible to re-open a closed post as there would be little point.
Why not just open a new topic, detailing the issue you had and how you solved it?
Yes a new topic is good … you can link in the beginning to the old one.
Moderation can move the content afterwards if it makes sense.
However, if everyone wants reopening old topics we do have a new problem ![]()

Most of the time an answer to a 6 year old topic is of little utility.
If the problem exists today then a new topic with the solution is a good thing to write.
