GPU in Fedora

Hi! I recently switched to Fedora Linux Workstation 43 on my new laptop. It has 16GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and Intel Core 5 Ultra 225H Processor with the Intel Arc 130T Graphics. Out of the box it came with Windows 11 Home on which I installed minecraft. I ran it with sodium and a few other mods and was averaging around 200-210 fps. On BSL Shaders it went to 60-65. But with the very same settings and mods, I am getting 30-40 fps in fedora. In vanilla too I am averaging only around 150-160 fps. What could be the cause of this, Is fedora not fully using my GPU ? I have also noticed that windows is overall more smoother than Fedora. I have a 2.8K 120Hz display and I have found windows more smoother. Is Fedora unable to use my GPU or is it a driver issue ?

Is that the xe driver?

If so, I did some testing on that ~6 weeks ago with an Arc B580. In my tests those drivers saw ~30% falloff on non-RT performance compared to Windows. In RT content, the dropoff was far greater.

However, it wasn’t totally consistent, in one of the games I tested was only 5% slower and some didn’t run at all.

That being said, I didn’t test Minecraft. I was testing Windows games running under Proton. I did test some Linux native games but performance was generally substantially slower than the Windows versions of the games under Proton across all GPUs.

My best advice is to make sure you have the latest possible mesa versions.
