Fedora Silverblue 41 bootloader install failed on Asus VivoBook 14

I installed Fedora 35 Workstation on my uncle’s laptop a few years ago and it’s been sitting all this time. Today, I tried to do a fresh install (with Silverblue this time) to get it up to date, and the installer said the bootloader failed to install.

What could be the issue? Tell me how to get any info that may be helpful.

Should I stick with Workstation? Will Workstation be more likely to install properly?

Probably,
However we cannot say with any certainty since we have no clue about what the laptop actually is. A brand, model, and firmware version would assist in answering.

You also could check with the linuxhardware db to see if there are reports about the particular laptop.

I just upgraded an older asus laptop with amd processor and gpu and only 4GB RAM that I previously had f35 on and did a new clean install of f41 workstation.
It works but is agonizingly slow with the limited RAM.

This sounds like an issue we get on multiple installs.

Try to install the f40 silverblue ISO first

Is your system on UEFI? Can you give us a full error message or even log?

Added atomic-desktops, installation

Added f41

Please check this bug report, it might apply to you too.

I will try F40 Silverblue and upgrade from there.

System is UEFI.

I will come with error messages when I have access to the machine.

F40 installed!
