Fedora not waking up from hibernation

Hi,
when I had Fedora 39 I noticed that when I close my laptop or it goes into hybernation itself, it doesn’t wake up, sometimes the screen is just black and laptop is not doing anything, sometimes even when laptop is closed, the fan starts working (as if there was something happening) but the screen never comes back up.

I updated kernel as well, didn’t help, updated nvidia drivers, didn’t help.

Now I updated to Fedora 40 but the issue still perseveres.

This does not happen everytime, sometimes I can close my laptop and revive it, but mostly it doesn’t came back up.

Does anyone know where the issue could be?

Thank you

Added hibernate, suspend-resume

I had the same on mobile AMD. It may be an issue between the kernel and the graphics driver, or the firmware of the GPU or other issues.

But have you fixed it? I also think it is issue related to graphics card (I’ve had many issues with nvidia drivers on fedora in the past) but strangely not even updating to the latest fixed the issue, not even moving to fedora 40.

These issues come and go I think.

I actually tried reporting that to mesa and the kernel, but I think I didnt get useful logs to find out what caused it.
