Fedora install infinite initializing

Hello there,

I tried to install Fedora (KDE Plasma Desktop 44) on my PC (few years old with CachyOS for now) to test it thoroughly. I put the ISO on a USB key, launched it successfully and accessed the desktop. Then I tried to install it using the main button, and a message saying “Initializing” appeared but remained stuck indefinitely.

I tried with another USB key, verified the hash, and tested the ISO before booting. But nothing changed.

Any ideas on how to make it work?

You could try again with an up to date respin iso from: Making sure you're not a bot!

Or use the Everything installer (selecting the KDE profile). it uses the old anaconda installer, but downloads the latest packages during install, so you end up with a fully up to date system after install.

The up-to-date version didn’t work. But the second option is ok, although I did have to update manually from 42 to 43, then to 44. I must have missed something during installation.
Thank you for your prompt help!

Weird, that Alternative Downloads page still seems to be stuck at Fedora 42.

For reference, this page has the latest version of the Everything ISO. (But no need to reinstall, you already successfully got to Fedora 44!)

Can someone take a look at the alt download page. Something is wrong there.

Apologies @ookami in case I linked the wrong page here, which made you go through two upgrades instead of installing f44 right away.

No problem! I thought since it was an alternative, the older version was normal. But it works! That’s all that matters.
Thank you!

Out of curiosity since this is for a different issue.
Does making the changes Installer crashes in storage editor in all Live environments except Workstation
Change anything?
Thanks

I just tried, and no, it doesn’t change anything. Always the infinite loading of the installer.
