I was hoping to be able to sign copies of my book for people at Flock this year, but it seems very unlikely that I’ll be able to attend. So what I’d like to do instead is allow people to send me the money and then I’ll make a bulk order from the publisher, sign them all, and ship them with an attendee for distribution.

In order to do this, I’d like the Council’s assent to make a single Discussion thread and a Fedora Planet post about this. Since this would be a self-serving commercial post, I feel like Council permission is good, if not strictly required.

Since the Mailing list guidelines don’t require pre-approval and I can’t find any other relevant policies, I’ll consider a lack of -1s to be approval in a week.

I’m in support of this. It’s a great book, and very relevant to Fedora.

Please do not prefix the subject with COMMERCIAL. Gah. We should drop that from the mailing list rules too.

How are you thinking to offer this to Flock attendees in the Discussion thread and Fedora Planet post? Reply with interest and send a DM with an address? Would you need to integrate anything with the Flock website or registration form?

OK. Reading this request now, I guess you are not intending to tie the book sales to Flock itself? I’m bummed if we will not get to see you at Flock, but I wasn’t sure if your comment about Flock had any bearing on how you wanted to execute this commercial post.
