Fedora 43 - Unable to shutdown notebook

I’m unable to shutdown my notebook after upgrading to Fedora 43.

When I try to shutdown, it takes for ever, and in the end, it shows something like: watchdog timeout. I need to force-shutdown the device, which is something I want to prevent doing.

Does anyone have this issue? I think it either happens because of the latest kernel or the NVIDIA GPU (Optimius) isn’t powering off.

It’s a Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 14AHP9 with AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS with a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (rpmfusion). Does anyone with a laptop like this have this issue? Any way to debug?

Thanks!

I’ve had a similar situation on and off but with an AMD CPU and GPU based desktop. I allow my desktop to suspend but I went into my office yesterday to find out it was still powered on after a week. Sometimes I can’t even shut down any windows but yesterday I could. Some terminal commands worked, but others would just hang. I eventually was able to click reboot and after I hit ESC I noticed that it was shutting things down very slowly. It eventually printed that watchdog timeout error last and just hung there without shutting down. In this case SysReq-REISUB (which I have enabled) didn’t even work so I had to force it to power down.
