Greetings all,
I’m writing this post as I am pretty much at my wits end and am seeking help as I myself don’t know what else I could do to fix this issue.
Some info that might help y’all:
-
Installed Fedora 39 Workstation with Fedora Media Writer on a USB dongle (16GB).
-
I think I reinstalled about 2 times, 1st time (Fedora 39 Workstation | Gnome) I was clueless
about this so I went ahead and configured it with resolution scaling, gnome extensions, tlp
afaik. The second time I made the same installation but left everything vanilla. -
I tried installing arch as I could choose which packages I wanted to install but unfortunately it
froze during my arch manual install twice as well so I quit the installation process. -
I then proceeded to install my current DE: Fedora 39 Workstation KDE which seemed to have
much less freeze but they still occur. -
The latest freeze happened like this while using Firefox (although the freezes have happened on different applications as well but perhaps this is a good indication?): I tried loading up a Youtube video but after a couple seconds it showed an error (unfortunately I have yet to reproduce the same freeze. My screen froze and while i did have system monitor in the background, when I tried to change my Firefox window to my system monitor window you could see that it froze in the taskbar. After a couple seconds my cursor also proceeded to freeze. As of now this is the freeze where I paid attention as to how it unfolded. Unfortunately I could not see the RAM, CPU usage or temps for the reasons mentioned a bit ago.
My Specs:

I hope this may give some clues on what the cause is. If there’s anything else or commands that I need to execute to further help diagnose it I’m willing to do them. This is also my first time writing something like this so if you have any feedback feel free to enlighten me.
Many thanks in advance for helping me.
