Fedora 34 dev. How to change the dash background colour to transparent? Not something that’d trouble anyone, as the dash is always hidden. But, it’d be nice, only to see the dash, when it appears. In the default Adwaita theme, the background is there, but sort of dimmed.
hi @chdslv : welcome to the forum! Please take a minute to look at the introductory posts in the #start-here category if you’ve not had a chance to do it yet.
Is your system up to date? I’m not seeing the darker horizontal band on my F34 here.

Of course, it is up to date. Like I said, I changed the theme, so the background colour can be seen. Even with the default Adwaita, that background is there, only slightly. Not a big deal, really.
Do you have some sort of “dock” extension installed?
Corrected the problem by changing gnome-shell.css
and setting background-color: transparent;
in #dash
in the given theme. It would be nice to have a configuration ability, by the way.
Best to file an issue with the developers of the theme. In this case, Gnome? For any Gnome related issues, you should file bugs with Gnome upstream. Fedora packages and provides Gnome but does not develop it.
