Epson Scan 2 cannot connect to network scanner

Just upgraded to Fedora 36.
Downloaded and installed the Epson Scan 2 utility for Fedora.
The Epson Scan 2 application icon is shown in the main menu screen.
After starting it, selection of a scanner is asked.
I submit the address 192.168.1.66 and in the device selection box the
Epson Network Scanner (192.168.1.66) is shown.
When pressing the Next button, the search of scanner fails and the
“Unable to communicate with the scanner.
Check scanner is on and connected to the computer” message shows up.

Hi

My Epson Printer is plugged into a USB port,

Printing over wireless is always difficult, so have you printed the IP configuration on the printer to confirm that the IP address is correct.

Ping the printer’s IP address to make sure the computer can contact the printer and a response can be received from the printer.

If you can’t get past this test and establish communication with the printer, then you are never going to get the scanner to work.

Is this comment relevant you ask, well I am running Fedora 41, and the same problems occur every time I install my Epson 6100 Printer on the new version after upgrading.
