Anyone affiliated to RH should declare their affiliation when responding to this thread. While reading several of the “in-favour” responses I realised they are RH employees. It wasn’t immediately obvious.

I work for Red Hat. I don’t agree that this should happen:

My biggest concern with this (other than a reiteration of the plea to make this opt-in or at least make the user decide explicitly without a default), is the PR disaster this is going to be.

You seem to be suggesting that Red Hat employees generally favor this proposal. This is not the case.
