Each time I want to input Chinese character 多, the output is ‘duo’. This phenomenon happens occasionally when trying to input some other Chinese characters. I’m using F39 on Wayland environment.
Hi there, could you please tell us how you’re inputting the character so folks can try to reproduce it? (Only then can we start debugging the issue)
I’ve been able to input Japanese on Wayland, both with Gnome, using ibus and labwc, (a nice openbox replacement) using fcitx. As @ankursinha says, please tell us how you’re attempting to input Chinese? Are you using Gnome or something else? Are you using ibus or something else? This way, someone who used whatever method you’re using should be able to help.
I’m using ibus to input Chinese on Wayland, Gnome.
In the ‘Preferences’ of ‘Chinese (Intelligent Pinyin)’, uncheck ‘Remember every input as a phase’ can solve this problem.
This problem remains in Fedora 41 beta, but ‘Remember every input as a phase’ is really a good feature…
