Been on Linux and Fedora for several years. Normally I just plug the USB stick, open the “disks” app, and there it is just a matter of a few clicks to format them with ext4. Now, after a system upgrade from 41 to 42, it does not seem to work anymore. I have already tried with 3 USB sticks that were working, and the “Format partition” is not enabled:
In your first screenshot it lists the drive as read only, which would not allow any formatting. Are the drives mounted?
My guess without more info is that your disks are being automatically mounted, for formatting iirc you need to unmount the drive first.
I think it has to do with my company restricting the usage of removable media. In my personal computer everything works fine after upgrading to F42 so…
