Bug on GDM Login Screen related to multiple input languages

Hi guys, I think I’ve found a bug.
I have 2 languages on my computer and I write my password in English.
I’ve noticed that when I try to unlock my computer and filling up a wrong password in my second language when I try to switch languages it works but when the little helper text disappears the language reset to the first one.
If I turn on Caps Lock this is another helper text but it does not happen when this is appear or disappear just the unsuccessful login

If there is a way to share a video of this happening I would be grateful

Hi guys, anyone had this behavior too?

You might try adding the workstation tag to get the attention of the right people. Also, they might not respond until a weekday.

Another thing that I’m not quite sure it is worth mentioning is that if I have my password written and I click just near the show password it deletes the password (resets the input)

It only happens in the login screen, when the password popup is shown the behavior does not reoccur

Hi everyone
Has anyone faced this bug?

Since this is a problem with GNOME and no one has responded here, you might try reporting the problem to GNOME’s bug tracking system: Issues · GNOME · GitLab

Will sure do.
Thank you
But which project to submit the bug to?
I’m fairly new to this ecosystem

For the login screen, you should file the bug report against GDM (the GNOME Desktop Manager).

Added gdm, gnome and removed bugzilla, problem

I have the same issue with reset of keyboard layout when “wrong password” tip disappeared.
Fedora 41, Gnome Shell 47.1, GDM 47
