Brother two-sided printing issue in Silverblue 40 & 41

The printer is connected using overlaid printer-driver-brlaser 6 (printer-driver-brlaser-6.2.6-4.fc41.x86_64). One sided printing works fine. When printing two-sided the odd pages print what looks like barcodes (attached)

I got the same results on Silverblue 40/41 and Atomic Sway 41 with two Brother printers (HL-L2310D and HL-L2312D) and two different print servers (p910nd on OpenWRT and Synology Diskstation).

The printers work fine with the same setup and a Debian 12 pc with printer-driver-brlaser 6.

Any ideas what the reason might be?

This is weird. I have a newer gen Brother HL-L3290CDW and double sided printing still works as normal AFAICT on F41 using out of box drivers.

Are you using your printed wired or wireless?

Both the print server and the source host are connected via Ethernet. I finally tested printing directly via USB and the result is the same.
