Blank Screen

I download this iso Fedora-KDE-Desktop-Live-43-1.6.x86_64 and wrote it to a USB stick using Fedora Media Writer.

It boots fine to the Grub menu and after that always a black screen.

I tried adding all of the parameters the AI suggested one at a time with no difference.

Also, I was using the Display Port on the GPU however I switched over to HDMI, this also made no difference.

Can someone point me to a troubleshooting guide or help out?

My hardware:
ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming WIFI

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X

G.Skill Trident Z5, 32GB, DDR5-6000

ASUS Radeon RX 6700 XT, 12GB GDDR6

I have also tried setting the BIOS with UEFI enable and disabled. Secure Boot has been disabled the whole time.

Which “AI suggested” parameters have to tried so far?

noapic
nomodeset
amdgpu.dc=0, modprobe.blacklist=nouveau
video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60

OK - ensure that CSM is disabled in the BIOS, so that you’re using straight, unadulterated UEFI.

  • Boot the live USB, and at the grub menu, hit e, and remove the quiet and rhgb parameters from the kernel options.
  • Hit Ctrl-X (or F10) to boot the kernel using those values and watch the boot process take place.

If it appears to stop, take a screenshot of the last stuff written to the screen - as clear as possible please.

Not much here,

It sounds similar to this issue:

If you connect your monitor to the HDMI of your motherboard (so that you use the integrated graphics, not the 6700XT), does that make a difference?

If so, then you might well have the same issue described in that topic.

That was it! Disabled Resizable BAR and wham it works now. Hopefully ASUS has a BIOS update to fix the problem.

Thank you! thank you! I have been fighting with this for about a week.

I could enable RBAR again (I have the same mainboard) with bios version 3602.
