I’m having this weird issue only with Fedora on one of my machines.
When the screen dims and goes black after inactivity or when you go to suspend and try to resume, the screen continues to be black. Keyboard lights work and ctrl alt F3 / F2 doesn’t work. I have to hard reset to get the system back.
The live USB for F34 and F35 does the same (when just testing screen off idle from settings) and fresh installs.
However, if I test a live USB and fresh install from the latest versions of Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.2, POP OS 21.10 and Ubuntu 21.10 they do not have this black screen issue.
So I’m not sure how to investigate for Fedora what the issue is if the live USB is giving the same problem.
Thanks
Edit: Specs: CPU Intel Celeron J4115, GPU: Intel GeminiLate UHD Graphics 600
I can ssh into the machine while the screen shows black
I have not checked that chipset id, (8086:3185) but there is a version of the intel IGP that needs a slightly newer driver and it is possible the i915 driver in fedora is not quite up to what is needed for that IGP. Check that out and see what is said in various places. I don’t have time tonight to search for it but I distinctly remember others having a similar issue.
