Hello. I’m afraid you’ll have to create an issue on GitHub · Where software is built.
Just tried to run Zoom and journalctl -f mentions :
Apr 18 16:31:36 portsrv systemd-coredump[58794]: [LNK] Process 58787 (ZoomWebviewHost) of user 1000 dumped core.
Module /app/extra/zoom/ZoomWebviewHost.real without build-id.

Thanks a lot then I have to create an issue…
It’s really odd bc I remember Zoom worked normally out of box.
But good to see that I’m not the only one.
Do you know if it’s only an issue on Fedora or other distros are also affected?
Thx:)
Andi
I migrated my two devices to Fedora 42 so unfortunately I can’t test on Fedora 41.
But I was able to test on a Debian VM and the issue does not occur.
Looking further :
# env LANG=C journalctl --since yesterday | grep -i zoom | grep -i audit
Apr 18 16:20:13 portsrv audit[57201]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=3 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 pid=57201 comm="ZoomWebviewHost" exe="/app/extra/zoom/ZoomWebviewHost.real" sig=5 res=1

Apr 18 16:23:04 portsrv audit[58016]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=3 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 pid=58016 comm="ZoomWebviewHost" exe="/app/extra/zoom/ZoomWebviewHost.real" sig=6 res=1
Apr 18 16:23:26 portsrv audit[58075]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1000 uid=1000 gid=1000 ses=3 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 pid=58075 comm="ZoomWebviewHost" exe="/app/extra/zoom/ZoomWebviewHost.real" sig=6 res=1
So no Flathub issue to create. SELINUX problem ? I’m not familiar with ANOM_ABEND errors
I tried Flatpak Zoom on Fedora 41 a month or so ago - I also found it crashed so much as to be unusable. So this probably isn’t a new issue in 42.
The Zoom webapp in a browser is fine for my needs, so now I just use Zoom in Ungoogled Chromium. (It doesn’t work well in Firefox, but I guess any Chromium-based browser should be fine.)
Zoom Flatpak was created end of March and provides version 6.4.3.827 : see History for us.zoom.Zoom.appdata.xml - flathub/us.zoom.Zoom · GitHub
Most recent version is 6.4.5 - see Download Center for Zoom Apps and Plugins | Zoom
You can try to download the rpm and see if the issue is solved with that version
I have tried to install from Zoom rpm directly and it doesn’t work either
Are you able to blur your background video in the web browser using Zoom?
@deepspace9 so in Debian VM it doesn’t have any crashes? It’s interesting to see!
Yes, background blur works fine.
@pg-tips Can you choose the background blur after joining a meeting or before? I just tried to check it and I wasn’t able to blur the background before joining.
I think you have to go into a meeting to set it for the first time. But after that, the setting is remembered for your future meetings.
So you can just go into your personal meeting room, or the test meeting (Join a Test Meeting | Zoom), set it once, and you should get the blur in all your future meetings.
@pg-tips thanks a lot! I am going to test it and I’ll give you a feedback if it works for me
@pg-tips thanks it works in the browser
