X11 works but wayland only provides 1024x768 resolution with nvidia driver 530.30.02 (for CUDA 12.1)

On Fedora 37 with nvidia driver 530.30.02, x11 works but wayland only provides 1024x768 resolution. Is there a way around this?

Still the same on f38, apparently because solution(s) known to wayland contains:

$ cat /sys/class/drm/card0-Unknown-1/modes 
1920x1080

only. (And this on my 4k monitor!)
