X11 Graphics: changing resolution

It worked on RPi OS so the hardware seems fine. I suggest a bug report be submitted against fedora aarch64 release for this issue.

Just to verify this is directly related to the aarch64 version on the Pi and not fedora in general for that monitor, could you check the same monitor attached to a different system running fedora and see if it configures properly there. This would help identify if it is fedora vs monitor in general, or fedora aarch64 vs monitor. The drivers are definitely different for the arm architecture vs x86 architecture.

Yes, it is the above, and the below info is from the raspberry pi OS, so the xrandr --verbose does work on the cable and monitor I am using.

xrandr --verbose

It seems it would be beneficial to all users of fedora on RPi to have this reported as a bug so the drivers can be updated and the edid data properly received and processed.

Include all relevant data such as fedora version, rpi data, monitor data, etc so the developers have the info needed to update software.

When you post the bug on bugzilla please also link to it here so others may find it.

I would do that but have no idea how to, having never done so before, plus its a little outside of my knowledge I think all the needed info is here maybe you could post it.

You would simply go to bugzilla, log in with the same credentials you use here (FAS credentials) then follow the steps to create the bug. I don’t have your hardware nor problem so I cannot provide the needed info for the bug. It may sound a bit hard, but is actually much easier than is expected.

@computersavvy is correct in saying the process of filing a bug is not difficult. People working on the bug may have questions, suggest things to try, or ask if a proposed fix solves your problem – all things only you can do. I’ll also add that filing bug reports is an important way ordinary users contribute to the community
