With my Graphics Card, Cursor is Invisible in Wayland

My graphics card is Intel Corporation Meteor Lake-P [Intel Arc Graphics] (rev 08), and the cursor is invisible with Wayland. I can use the XFCE desktop, which doesn’t use Wayland. I’m not even sure where the best place to report this is. Is there a place where I can submit bugs for kernel developers?

There appears to be a somewhat similar report here: Mouse pointer is not visible · Issue #462 · DisplayLink/evdi · GitHub

It is still open though, with no solution or workaround suggested. IDK. I haven’t seen such a problem before.

Are you using KDE? If so, does putting KWIN_FORCE_SW_CURSOR="1" in /etc/environment work around the problem?

It looks like the equivalent for GNOME would be MUTTER_DEBUG_DISABLE_HW_CURSORS: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2150

I had great hopes from your answer. But sadly, still no cursor. My preferred desktop is KDE. I think I need to get this problem to people working on the kernel. I don’t know where to go to do that.

There is a similar bug report here, except that they are using virtualization:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=985461

Here is a link to a list of bug reports matching “cursor” in that same bug tracker:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=cursor&list_id=13543707

If you can find a bug that matches what you are experiencing in the above list, tack a “me too” onto it, supply additional, relevant information if you can, and you should get email notifications when the problem is resolved.

Otherwise, go ahead and add another report to the list: Log in to Red Hat Bugzilla
