Wifi stopped working after kernel/module update

get nothing, tried the usb atheros base dongle on another machine, a laptop with its own wifi, also not working, in-fact when i unplugged it i got a kernel panic? with an ascii art tux with an exclamation mark ‘screen of death’.

Does rolling back to a previous deployment resolve for you?

rpm-ostree rollback in the terminal then reboot.

Pick the previous deployment in the GRUB menu at boot and plug the dongle in again. Silverblue keeps the deployment from before the update as the second entry.

If Wi-Fi works there, run sudo rpm-ostree rollback from that deployment to make it the default until a fixed update arrives.

On the current deployment, check whether the dongle’s firmware loads right after you plug it in:

journalctl -k -b | grep -i firmware

sorry, should have said, did that immediately, which fixed, then update again and stops.
am waiting for another update but thought i should report, especially with the kernel panic.

Pin the deployment that works with sudo ostree admin pin 1 while it’s the second entry in rpm-ostree status, so a later update can’t remove it.

For the report, file a bug at bugzilla.redhat.com against the Fedora kernel component with the kernel version from each deployment in rpm-ostree status and a photo of the panic screen.
