Why the firmware never gets updated?

I click on the update button and nothing happens, restart the computer and it never gets updated.

What gives?

I had a issue in the past where the EFI partition was shared with Windows and 100 MB were not enough so I resize it to 200 MB and the issue went away.

However, I currently have both operating systems in two separate hard discs so I don’t think the EFI partition is being used up, in fact, I created the EFI partition to 1GB by mistake so I don’t believe the issue is because there isn’t enough space unless of course, Fedora is using the Windows EFI partition instead which is still 100 MB.

I’m on Fedora Workstation 39 and everything is up to date.

Can you update it from the terminal:

fwupdmgr refresh --force; fwupdmgr update

I completely forgot I could do fwupdmgr update and it worked, I just wonder why Software doesn’t want to perform the update:
