[image] Mr. Beedell, Roke Julian Lockhart: In that case, why timedatectl set-local-rtc 0 isn’t set for such systems by default isn’t evident. It’s probably an attempt to be compatible with MS Windows systems for those who choose to dual-boot their PC.

Why is "The system is configured to read the RTC time in the local time zone." by default?

It appears to be compatible insofar as you instruct Windows to utilise UTC:
