When will Fedora recognize bluetooth headsets

I just installed Fedora KDB and upgraded to 43. Not only does my headset not work, Fedora refuses to even see it. So that BT Type is eliminated from the scan list. WHY? WHEN CAN WE USE OUR HEADSETS???

Using a headset on ANY operating system is the most basic of functions used and necessary!

Welcome to Fedora @darcsceptor

For your fist Topic you are quite noisy! And very demanding.
We can just help you and point to the right place when you give information about your system!

p.s.
We are not paid help desk staff here, we are Foss enthusiasts which try to help. So take it easy, but take it

I can use Bluetooth headphones with Fedora just fine. You may have to provide some more details if you want people to help you instead of just venting your frustration.

The documentation page “Troubleshooting Bluetooth problems” might also contain some things to try.

So if you are unpaid volunteers then this forum goes nowhere and no developer will see this issue?

Maybe I’m putting oil on the fire but did you even switched on your headset before you let the system find it? It wouldn’t be the first time somebody made that mistake, I know from experience.

It might go somewhere or it might not. But continuing this confrontational tone without providing even a little bit of information is definitely not getting you anywhere.

FYI, not everybody finds a headset as important as you do. As an example, I have a headset for my laptop that I use about once a month for video conferences with my diabetes coach at the VA. Now, if you want us to help you, you need to give us some information, starting with what brand/model of computer are you using, have you tried using that headset on any other computer and have you tried using a different headset with your computer? I’m sure that other posters here will have their own questions to ask, but this will at least get us started and show that you’re willing to work with us and not just demand help.

If you have a valid issue then there’s a quite good chance that someone will report it upstream as a valid bug.

Post details.

Post your system details from inxi -Fzxx (or a straight fpaste). Post what headset you use (my Jabra cans work just fine over BT with literally zero faffing about - turn on, pair, play). Tell us what the issue is rather than a wild “this is shit, it doesn’t work” and you’ll probably find you get a lot of eyes, a lot of experience, and a lot of help. If it really is a bug, it’ll get reported but only if you give the details about what’s not working for you.

If you wish to communicate directly with the developers of the bluetooth code used by fedora, you can contact them here:

Definitely. As such, you should definitely not read even one sentence from the links below, as they will absolutely be a complete waste of your time.
