Wake on sleep issue

Continuing the discussion from Desktop does not wake after sleep:

SCO group, Intel, AMD & MSFT are at it again, with deliberately misleading and/or proprietary laptop hardware specs offered to authorized developers under NDA’s – I’m looking at FreeBSD, OpenBSD, the exact same problems are showing up, with absolutely no kernel code in common.

Not everyone who “contributes” code for free or open source software does so out of the goodness of their heart. Competing proprietary interests, the Microsoft/Apple/Google operating systems all “work” but nothing else does.

Richard Stallman might have been an atheist, but even the Bible says all the books will be opened on Judgment Day, you don’t have to be an atheist for free software, and there are a few things about that Santa Cruz (or “Holy Cross”) Operation (SCO) that have never been resolved.

Are you proposing some kind of solution to something, or just complaining?

I don’t know about that particular linked thread issue specifically, but I have a feeling it’s general ACPI stuff, in which case this might likely help: Fedora 40 kde battery percentage not updating/always in charge - #19 by Espionage724

If that’s the case, that’s unfortunate, but what would you propose as a real-world solution to the bigger-picture issue of ACPI and how OEMs dev it vs Linux?

Slammed the lid on the laptop, Wakey wakey works again.
