Vim no clipboard?

vim has no clipboard support?

Gvim does but vim in terminal; none?

The gui terminal program has clipboard support, but it not on ctrl-c/ctrl-v.
Try using shift-ctrl-c/shift-ctrl-v.

Does that work?

vim without a display manager does not have clipboard support (what clipboard would it use?).

If you want to use vim in a terminal with clipboard support, use vimx. For more information, please see:

man vim

This is not Fedora specific from what I know. See, for example:

In gvim you can pull down the “File” submenu and see which key combination can be used. For regular vim, you would use the copy and paste functions of the terminal emulator. That is usually “shift-ctrl-C” and “shift-ctrl-V” or you can use the old classical “Select, and then middle click to paste whatever is currently selected”.

“shift-ctrl-C” and “shift-ctrl-V” these work they are the only ones that do. middle click does not work. thanks
