Update failure notification, kernel already installed

,

Every fresh login I get a notification that says an update failed, kernel 5.15.8 is already installed.

The “Repair System” button isn’t having any noticeable effect; the message just returns then next fresh login. “Open Discover” just…opens Discover, which is not helpful.

I’m already on kernel 5.15.11 so the message seems pretty harmless (if not irrelevant). Still, does anyone know how to get it to go away?

That is caused by package kit with the automatic offline update process. I cannot tell you how to fix it with kde since I use gnome. My fix with gnome was to remove the package-kit package so the service did not run and attempt to do updates at shutdown time.

Looks like this may be an existing bug
