I have a major issue with testing F41 Beta with Silverblue. Usually beta testing was simple and rollback easy, but this time around my laptop is unbootable. I did this:
- Did an rpm-ostree update
- Pinned the F40 version
- Did an rpm-ostree rebase to F41
I was working with this just fine for a few days now. But then I did an rpm-ostree update.
There was an error with a gtk2 library missing for the ICAClient overlay I had installed.
No big problem. I did wonder why the initial rebase did not have this problem and the update seemed to have removed that but anyway… Simple solution. I did an rpm-ostree remove ICAClient. Reboot. Nothing. I don’t even have a grub menu. I can go into bios and see Fedora as a boot option. But selecting it just returns me to the bios menu. I tried to disable secure boot. No help there.
There is one brief message that flashes at the top of my screen after selecting Fedora from the Boot menu. But it is so fast I can’t read it. I imaging something EFI related that cant find grub???
What is the best option to recover my laptop? Boot from a rescue USB ? (But do what?)
Reinstall Silverblue and be careful to not nuke my data partition?
