I’m trying to install a program that only has a .deb package available for Linux. When I first used Alien to convert the package I had not included the --script parameter so I decided to abort the process and try again while including the --script parameter. Alien now tells me it cannot create the directory because “file exists.” “unable to mkdir at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Alien/Package.pm line 257.” Deleting the package and reinstalling Alien did not remedy this.
Hi @addthreeandfive, and welcome to the community!
Have you tried removing whatever files alien has already generated in the directory you’re working in & then try again? Alien tries to create a temporary working directory to unpack the package into, but can’t because that directory already exists - probably left over from your interrupted run.
