Touchpad gets slow after two-finger scrolling on Asus Vivobook

I notice that sometimes touchpad gets irresponsible and slow after scrolling and after some time it gets normal again. System reboot sometimes solves this, sometimes not. I don’t know when and why exactly this happens and where to search.

I’ll try to describe what I mean under “irresponsible”. Cursor behaves like it has an inertia, it is heavy and does not reflect small moves. Often it is needed to tap stronger to click, because simple taps aren’t recognized.

My system:

Machine: Asus Vivobook X1605ZA
OS: Fedora Linux Workstation 39
Kernel release: 6.8.6-200.fc39.x86_64

I’m having the same issue on a Lenovo V15 G3 IAP. Touchpad gets laggy after two finger scrolling and the lag stops after 6 seconds of inactivity. I filed a bug on linux-input but it didn’t get attention. Have you found anything about this?

Unfortunately, not much. Some similar posts on Reddit, but no solution. Switched to edge scroll, it does not cause this issue, although it is not so convenient.
