Some errors when launching the Silverblue ISO

this appeared when I was launching the USB with the recent Silverblue ISO a few days ago. I went with the default “Test this media and run” option, and this appeared before the test.

it still passed the test (as well as the Fedora Media Writer check), installed normally and has been working fine. I just still wanna know what the blue errors mean, because I’m a non-tech user, so I have no clue.

I’m especially curious about db_root: cannot open: /etc/target, because that’s the only error that I have never seen before. The other errors always showed up while installing other distros, including Silverblue 41, but the db_root error only happened on Silverblue 42.

and yeah, this ISO is still using the old Anaconda installer, not the new updated one. That’s not an issue though, just saying in case it’s important for figuring out the errors. There’s no live environment either, but it’s not supposed to be there.

This is a harmless error. There are details in How to resolve "kernel: db_root: cannot open: /etc/target" message - Red Hat Customer Portal (you can create a free Red Hat Developer account to get access) or db_root: can not open: /etc/target in FOS boot · Issue #20 · FOGProject/fos · GitHub or Linux Kernel Driver DataBase: CONFIG_TARGET_CORE: Generic Target Core Mod (TCM) and ConfigFS Infrastructure. You can safely ignore it.

This driver should maybe not be loaded by default by the installer ISO but I’m not why it’s there.

great to know, thanks.
the other errors I get should also be fine?

tpm_crb is likely related to your TPM chip so likely not relevant to you unless you use it.

I don’t think my laptop has support for TPM. But to be honest, I never researched how to check that, or anything about TPM in general. I heard it’s a security related thing though, so I’d be interested. Do you know how to check if my laptop supports it?
