i trashed my server (don’t ask!) and set it up again from an image I created with Live Media.
This doesn’t seem to be as fully featured as it might be but it’s working reasonably well.
However, my overnight backups of the server itself are failing and it seems to be a problem with librsync.
The backup software is Burp and if I disable librsync in its conf file the backup completes successfully. Otherwise I get a failure, complaining that there was a network timeout error, generally after about 25 minutes.
“Interestingly” I don’t get this problem when another machine on the network is backed up.
Previously both machines have backed up without problem, for a couple of years now.
What needs tweaking for librsync to behave itself again.
Alternatively, can I re-install from a fully fledged server installation source without entirely overwriting the current setup?
