Hello,
I’ve just upgraded to Kinoite 40 on my laptop to try the new KDE 6 with this command : rpm-ostree rebase fedora:fedora/40/x86_64/kinoite
However since the update there’s an error at startup. The error is :
[FAILED] Failed to start sddm.service - Simple Desktop Display Manager
I haven’t installed any packages with rpm-ostree
I can still boot by using Fedora 39 in GRUB.
Is there logs or something where I can find more informations about why SDDM won’t start ?
Thank you

We would need the full logs to be able to diagnose the issue.
# Find the boot where you booted in Fedora Kinoite 40
$ journalctl --list-boots
# Get the logs
$ sudo journalctl -b -3 > journal.log

I need to replace the -3 with the IDX of the boot log right ?
I think this is the right log. I don’t know how to upload it here so I have it in my drive : journal.log - Google Drive
Thanks a lot for your help.

SDDM is crashing and then the drkonqi coredump processor is crashing in a loop. I don’t know what’s happening but this is weird.

Since this is the second thread I have seen with reports of illegal instruction errors in libQtCore, I opened a bug: 2272758 – Illegal instruction errors in libQt6Core . For those affected, please add yourself to the CC field of that bug.
See Many programs crash with `Illegal instruction (core dumped)` for the other thread.
