Screen flickering rapidly, and then turns black after waking from sleep

This happened to me three times today on my ThinkPad E14 (AMD CPU with integrated GPU) after update.

  1. The first instance occurred when I disconnected the charging cable.
  2. The second time, I can’t recall exactly what triggered it.
  3. The third time happened just now when the laptop woke up from sleep.

Each time, the screen starts flickering, with the flickering frequency increasing rapidly until the screen turns completely black within 10 seconds, though the laptop itself remains powered on.

Update: This is related to the battery mode. When Balanced or Power Saver is selected, the bug happens. Selecting Performance mode will make the bug disappear/not appear in the first place.

Work Around: Change all the states in power management to performance profile.
