Screen blanking

when my screen turns off after 15 minutes of non use the
screen will go blank . but it will not come back out of a blank screen
when i try to get the computers attention . i will have to reset the
computer to get things back again . i am a noob to fedora , coming from
opensuse . i am currently not useing any nvidia drivers .

Now when i click on the audio control icon in the panel the screen goes blank .
I tried to run memtest64 and got the error

the system found unauthorized changes to the firmware , operating system or eufi drivers .

What can i do now ?

I updated the bios and memtest64 works now and the memory is ok .
everything else is still the same .
