While helping here and searching sometimes for a solution, it happens that the “RH Customer” page pops up with the message that there is a proved solution, while asking for a subscription.
In the end it points to a case where has no solution and or the ticket just has been closed.
I am aware that I do write this message in the Fedora Community while it is a RH issue.
It is just strange that, to get in contact with RH Customer Service, I do have to sign up.
Do I really need to talk over Social Media about such a “fraud”, to make them aware that they keep a lot of users as stupid idiots?
Is there not a better way to attract new customers, than to lure them with us-less bug-report junk?
I really would like to get a statement from them, with all respect I do have for RH as the main Sponsor, spending my time here and see that such crap is popping up, not makes me happy.
And I see that more and more users* complain about that.
*(even sign up with frustration and let it out on us in the Fedora Space)
I do understand it when it is valid and usable knowledge. In the end RH is investing in the Opensource community.
But not when it is crap, and behind is just a closed ticket *Solution Verified.
Please not let’s mix things up. When you have to sign up, it is never free. You pay the price with being bombarded with unexpected emails and tracking. This would not be the case, having the ticket number to search with FAS account on the ticket system.
I really try to get an answer from point of view of an voluntary helper here.
Skimming the internet for answers to satisfy the community, and then get this kind of information where is just hot air, and they still want us sign up.
If there would at least be the source where we can check on the bug-tracker.
It is just Red Hat’s business model. They don’t sell the software, they sell subscriptions for support. They are always trying to rope in a new customer. I don’t blame them for trying to make a little money. I think you should be able to block or filter access.redhat.com from your search results if it is annoying you.
