Some context: recently I was investigating some strange stuff happening with my computer that eventually led to the discovery that my current GPU is defective. Now I’m looking to some models and would like to know any of you recommendations
These are the ones I’m considering with their respective price:
Nvidia RTX 5060 - R$2400 ~ R$3200
Radeon RX 7600 XT - R$2700 - R$3300
Radeon RX 9060 XT - R$2300 - R$3300
Of course my preference is for AMD but Nvidia prices seems to be better overall.
Whatever AMD you can afford. 7600, 9060, they both rock.
What do you plan to do with it? Productivity? Games? If games, which resolutions?
Price is one thing, value is another. Have you looked at benchmarks for the games you want to play and your screen’s resolution? Also, considering the additional complexities of Nvidia drivers and the 8GB VRAM of the 5060, I would probably rather spend a little more on something else.
And in this performance class, you can probably also take a look at Intel B580 cards.
Mainly gaming, the development stuff I do is mostly CPU only.
There’s also the 5060ti with 16gb for a little bit more, but it seems the 9060xt 16GB is the best option. I’ll take a look for the B580.
Edit: B580 12GB for R$1900 which is a really good price
The 9060XT, expecially with 16GB VRAM, is faster, sure. But the Intel B580 is really good value.
Do keep in mind the financial situation of Intel, I actually don’t know how much the driver development depends on work from Intel employees.
That’s what I’m mainly afraid of buying intel gpus, the drivers seem to be in a weird state
After some more search I’ve decided to bet on the B580, the price is hard to beat and will be basically the same performance as my old RX 6600xt
