Random freezes/crashes while using AMD dGPU

Hello!

I’m having trouble with random freezes, they usually happen while using Firefox or even the terminal. It could be less than a minute after boot, or 10 minutes later. I couldn’t find an action that triggered the freeze.
Once it happens, they mouse pointer keeps working for a few seconds until (I think) the GPU restarts. After that, the screen stays black and I have to force a shutdown.

I found the following report Interface freeze with kernel 6.11.3 on Fedora Linux 40 (Radeon RX 6600) (#3693) · Issues · drm / amd · GitLab which seems to be a similar issue, so I tried both an LTS kernel (6.6) and 6.14, but both reproduce the freeze/crash. Same with switching to KDE. It is also reproducible from a live USB.

While the GPU has a past with crypto mining, I still don’t think it is a hardware issue or a temperature issue, I have managed to used it for gaming and (surprisingly) it didn’t crash.

I still haven’t tried using Windows though. I can provide the output of journald of the last minute before shutdown: https://pastebin.com/raw/0iXRfrzZ

Any ideas? I’m quite lost on how to proceed now.

Setup:
