I was thinking about upgrading my F43 system to F44 on my laptop, but it seems that the system requirements outdo my laptop.
It states for minimum system requirements, “2GHz dual core processor or faster,
2GB System Memory,
15GB unallocated drive space”
My laptop is a 2020 Lenovo, I meet the RAM requirements, but the processor is a 1.2 GHz. I’m currently on Fedora 43, which was upgraded from 42, which was upgraded from 41, and on back to F36. I’ve always run XFCE. Has Fedora outdone my laptop, finally?

As far as I know, nothing has radically changed between Fedora 43 and Fedora 44 here.
I think you’d have a frustrating time trying to use even Xfce on a machine with under 2 GiB RAM, but under 2 GHz on the base clock should be less of an issue.
If you want some reassurance, you could try downloading the F44 Xfce live USB and see how that performs on your hardware?
I have double the RAM necessary. It’s the processor power that I was worried about. I may try the USB. It’s entirely possible that F43 requires more processor power than I have as well. I just stupidly jumped in and upgraded to it without checking, as it’s almost become a routine lol. Apps do sometimes have a fair lag when I boot them before they actually start, but once they start they’re OK.
