Problem on fingerprint authentication

There is no fingerprint authentication after the laptop is started, but there is when unlocking the screen or running sudo. What’s the problem?

I’m using F45 beta. The fingerprint authentication is OK in F44.

What is your kernel version?
Run lsusb and check for fingerprint reader or share the output of that.
Share the output of

journalctl -u fprintd -b 0

after a reboot.

I think this is normal: fingerprint is not offered on first login because it would not allow for unlocking the password storage. If you really want to, you can enable it by fiddling with authselect (or manually in /etc/pam.d)

But probably you will have to enter the password just after login,to retrieve the password that connect to wifi, check your email, etc.

Fedora 45 probably removed the feature because it led to a lot of confusion. Biometrics can’t unlock your keyring, so after logging in via fingerprint you were bombarded by multiple windows requesting your password.
