Polkit agent in Hyprland + Fedora 41

In Fedora 40, I used polkit-gnome as polkit agent in Hyprland. This allowed me to unlock 1Password with system authentication, for example. I started it with:

exec-once = /usr/libexec/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1

The package polkit-gnome is gone in Fedora 41. I also searched for a replacement package with dnf provides /usr/libexec/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 (no luck).

I tried polkit-kde, unsuccessfully.

What happened to the package polkit-gnome? What are other people using as polkit agent in Hyprland?

dnf search policykit and dnf search polkit gave a few other packages you could try, such as LXDE’s lxpolkit, xfce-polkit, mate-polkit and lxqt-policykit.

The base package in F41 appears to be named polkit-125.

polkit-pkla-compat-0.1-29.fc41.x86_64
polkit-libs-125-1.fc41.1.x86_64
polkit-125-1.fc41.1.x86_64

Thank you, mate-polkit seems to work well. It also looks the same as polkit-gnome used to look (GTK I assume).

For reference, this is how I start it:

exec-once = /usr/libexec/polkit-mate-authentication-agent-1
