Nvidia-settings and `Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display`

Hi,

I have tried to install nvidia-settings, but I had to remove, since I started to get Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display, whenever I tried to launch a digital signature app I need to use. Also, Totem (Videos) started to complain that openGL support was missing (I could fix it by >> env GDK_GL=gles totem).

Out of curiosity and ignorance, how do I explain to myself what was going on? Is there a workaround to install nvidia panel without any trouble?

Thanks
Cheers
mario

llvmpipe is the mesa software emulation layer. You should verify the NVIDIA driver installation, assuming the system does have a NVIDIA GPU
