Hi, i was forced to uninstall Nordvpn from dnf because it was in conflict with every dnf upgrade
Now i can’t re-install it.
Transaction failed: Signature verification failed.
OpenPGP check for package “nordvpn-3.20.0-1.x86_64” (/var/cache/libdnf5/repo.nordvpn.com_yum_nordvpn_centos_x86_64-37ccacb5bcc0924f/packages/nordvpn-3.20.0-1.x86_64.rpm) from repo “repo.nordvpn.com_yum_nordvpn_centos_x86_64” has failed: The repository does not have any OpenPGP keys configured.
It is a general issue or do you think is related only to me?
Thank you
It’s not just you, it is a general issue. Rather than uninstalling, disabling the repo for dnf also works. Eg: dnf update --disablerepo=*nordvpn*
.
I don’t think you can reinstall nordvpn once the PGP check fails, so this workaround will only be good for others or in the future

If you want a good VPN, use Mullvad.net
There honestly is no better one our there, especially in the details
- patching wireguard to save no logs
- custom Linux client with killswitch functionality
- DAITA, multihop, quantum resistant tunnel, censorship protetion
- custom DNS settings for adblocking and safety
- android app passes memory safety tests unlike the official wireguard app
- multiple audits
- very good and long track record and partnerships
Until then, use the native wireguard functionality if you really want to trust NordVPN. You can just configure the VPN in your network settings, you need a config file from nordVPN
The issue is not asking about nordvpn, but a specific issue. Your response is good information to ppl skeptic of nprdvpn, but not a solution or information regarding the issue faced.
I can also see why someone would use the nordvpn package over wireguard (assuming one trusts nordvpn). Using wireguard with nordvpn results in a degraded experience:
- not all types of connections are available as downloadable config
- dynamic server selection is not available
- each server is a separate connection point, crowding the connection panel
thank you all - unfortunately i had already deleted the package and i’ll have to wait the issue to be resolved
