No display from M2 Pro on HDMI after selecting Asahi Fedora

After selecting Fedora on a M2 Pro I don’t get a display. I don’t know if I’m on F39 or F40. I think it was working fine with F39 and then maybe I updated to F40. It has been several weeks since I tried but I know it was working at one point since I was porting some software over.

I have an HDMI display connected. The display works for macOS (and for macOS I can have the HDMI display and Thunderbolt Display connected at the same time). I have tried disconnecting the Thunderbolt Display with trying to use Asahi but nothing is displayed on the HDMI display. I have tried two different displays.

Do I need to reinstall Asahi Linux? If I do will it overwrite the data I have on the Linux partition (the code I was porting plus other files)?

Does this have anything to do with the version of macOS that is being used? I’m running macOS 14.5 Sonoma. Was the firmware updated that now makes in incompatible with F39 or F40?

I’ve seen some postings about reinstalling the UEFI(?) Would that help?

Is this a known problem? Is there anyway to troubleshoot this or work around it.

Well if I had paid attention to the PSA about updating M1N1 I would have had this problem. I just updated it and Ashai is booting as it previously was. I’m on F39 going to update to the latest.

So the issue is solved after updating m1n1? Please mark your reply as solutyion then.
