Minimal or custom Silverblue/OSTree images

@tdecacqu ,

OK, I got past that issue - there were a lot of warnings with the compose ut now I have:

# ostree admin deploy fedora/30/x86_64/copperblue
Copying /etc changes: 12 modified, 0 removed, 31 added
error: Bootloader write config: grub2-mkconfig: Child process exited with code 1

Thanks,
Phil.

I haven’t encountered that grub issue, perhaps it’s a bug in ostree related to your /etc content?

I deploy copperblue from a fresh silverblue install.

It is also good to do a minimal KDE plasma installation

More minimum is impossible

Is the base image still available?

I would like to try it in VM to debug my Kickstart %post scripts.
On underpowered machine I’m running this on a full SB installation takes about an hour. Hopefully, with such a small image it would happen quicker.

Yes, we renamed it to base-atomic: Quay

Thanks, but that seems to me a container things.
It still is not clear to me how to use that in my ostreesetup Kickstart command.
Any help?

There are no “non-container” minimal ostree images.

Oh, that’s quite unfortunate..
What are my options then?

Could I use ostreecontainer command instead, maybe? What will be the options?
I just need rpm-ostree available after install.

This one is of 1,7GB size, just 300MB less than full-blown 2GB SB?

Unfortunately, the link is broken.
Having such a small image of ~180MB would be really useful..
Any hope for resurrect?

The file was moved to the parent directory, you can find it here: Tree - copperblue - Pagure.io . Note that I haven’t used this for a while, so it might need to be updated.
