This is a slightly older photo. New files have arrived on the /home partition, but it doesn’t matter. I also have to install Bliss OS, Zorin OS and Endeavor OS on this expanded partition. How should I divide it so that there is still free space for Fedora (initially about 150 GB and then, if I need space, I would manipulate the sizes of other partitions). Bliss OS is probably supposed to get 40 GB, Zorin OS about 50 GB and EOS about 60 GB. In addition, there must be free space to expand these operating systems. Is it theoretically possible to swap the EOS and Zorin partitions? Can the Windows 11 partition be moved to the far right and from there take the free space originally intended for sda3? Please explain, because I don’t know that much about it and I don’t want to lose data while trying to figure it out. Of course, if there are any doubts, I will specify what I mean, because the post is probably very chaotic. I have many ideas and I don’t know how to implement it all so that it holds together.I have a MBR. Best regards!
Especially when Windows is involved, you have to be prepared to recover everything from backups when making massive reorganizations. There is a lot of overhead booting multiple OS’s that can be avoided if your use case can work with VM’s.
It is my understanding that windows 11 can only be used on a GPT partitioned disk and I also understood that it could only be booted with uefi. I think windows 10 could use either legacy boot (MBR) or uefi (GPT).
That image seems to show an MBR partitioned disk and I don’t believe a primary partition can be at any location but the beginning of the drive. (windows could not be moved)
Another limitation with MBR partitions is the total number of allowed partitions in each part (primary & extended)
It may be simplest to completely reinstall starting with windows and GPT partitioning with efi booting. Then adjusting partitions does not have the same limitations.
Multiple linux OSes should each have their own efi partition to avoid boot conflicts.
