Hello. I replaced my old motherboard with a new one and booted into my old Fedora 27. Everything works well except no network interface is detected. The motherboard is Asus Z590-PLUS WIFI. Neither the LAN or Wifi interface is detected in Fedora even though both are enabled in the BIOS. Any suggestions?

I’m guessing my kernel is too old or something. But how can I update a machine that’s totally without internet connection?
Welcome to ask. edora @timbilt
Could you please give us more info’s as :
inxi -Fzx
in terminal and post the output as </> Preformatted text here.
As you run a very old Fedora version, i propose you to test your system with a newer live Iso to see if your network will be recognized. I believe F27 has a to old kernel to work with it.
Fedora 34 or 35 are the actual supported versions where you also get support and security updates for it.

Please try a live iso F34 or F35. See if you have network connection.
If yes post the network part again while using the live iso.
P.S.
Just because of curiosity, how did you install inxi
without having a internet connection ?!
Fedora 27 is too old to have support for the hardware on that motherboard. Your solution will be to upgrade fedora to a current version, which will require that you either have an internet connection to do the upgrade or that you do a new install from a current release.
Even if you do a new install you still will need an internet connection in order to do a full upgrade from what is on the iso to what is current for all the software.

So there’s no way for me to upgrade without the internet? There’s no offline upgrade method to Fedora? Is there a way to update the kernel by figuring out which one is the latest I can use with Fedora 27 and updating my kernel to that?
timbilt:
Fedora 27
Is not supported any more.
Make a backup of your data and do a new installation. So your hardware might be auto detected. Please just check it fist with the Live Iso !
